“The Power of Words, Forgiveness & Love”
Blessings Truth Church Family!
We hope you were able to join us, either in person or on-line this Sunday. The Praise & Worship was phenomenal and the atmosphere was filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit as the praise team lead the congregation in praising and thanking the Lord for being our Waymaker, Promise Keeper, Miracle Worker and Light in the Darkness! It was truly uplifting and inspirational!
This Sunday’s sermon was taught by Pastor Rocky Whiteside who gave us a biblical, thought-provoking perspective on the power of words, forgiveness and love.
The Word of God is alive!
The Word of God is absolute Truth!
God spoke life into existance with His words!
God gave us power in our tongue to speak words of life… but with our tongue we can speak words of death as well! (Proverbs 18:21)
Don’t speak empty words – words of no value – words of death… speak words of life! (Matthew 12:36)
The Word of God is healing and we receive our healing by faith!
We want His word to come alive in our hearts!
The bible says whatever circumstance we are in, is where He has us at this time.
Whatever circumstance we find ourselves in, we are there for a purpose and we must glorify Christ through it and be the witness He called us to be each and every day!
Christianity will always be a choice – a choice of the heart.
We must conform to the lifestyle Jesus destined for us in order to have abundant life, but we must first learn to forgive to free our hearts for the blessings of God to manifest in our lives!
When we commit to conform our lifestyle and pursue living for Christ, the devil ramps up his schemes and tactics to try to distract us and keep us discouraged in this pursuit.
Unfortunately, even though we are believers, a part of the body of Christ, we sometimes reject one another…we even reject ourselves and sow seeds of discouragement, discontentment and unforgiveness.
We are all traveling different roads, fears and authorities, but yet we are all one in Christ Jesus!
The first step of being free, is forgiveness!
Whenever you can forgive others…with no strings attached… just because of what Jesus has done for you and you can forgive others just because they are your brother or your sister, then you are free!
We also sometimes even need to forgive ourselves!
Christ wants us to be free and take off all the shackles of the things in this life that bind us up and hold us back, all the selfish concerns and things that hurt and dissappoint us and cause unforgiveness.
We are all bound together by something greater than anything else…any resentment, issue, or hurt feelings…We are bound together by the blood of Jesus… and Jesus is love!
God is love – He loves us even when we don’t love Him!
Nothing can separate us from the love of God! (Romans 8:38-39).
Trusting in the Lord and the depth of His love, forgiving and loving one another will allow the blessings of the Lord to manifest in your life! (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Remember, the greatest of all the commandments… is Love!
Power of life and death … Proverbs 18:21
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Don’t speak empty words … Matthew 12:36
But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God …Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Trust in the Lord … Proverbs 3:5-6
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
The Greatest Commandment … Matthew 22-37-39
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.
