“Powerful Prayers”

(part 1)

Blessings Truth Church Family!

We hope you were able to join us, either in person or on-line this Sunday. The Praise Team passionately worshiped and lifted up the name of Jesus, welcoming His Holy presence, and His Spirit was felt mightily in the room!

Pastor Jason opened the service in prayer … “Heavenly Father I thank You for the ability to preach and teach. I thank You for Your presence in this house this morning and the power of Your Word.  Lord I thank You for Your anointing in this house. Touch each and every person. Lord give us ears to hear and hearts to receive Your promise. In Jesus name … Amen.

Pastor Jason started a new series today entitled “Powerful Prayers”, where he will teach us the strategies we must follow to have an effective and powerful prayer life.

Sermon message…

God is the Alpha and Omega – The beginning and the end! He is BIG all by Himself! (Revelation 1:8)

God has already made a way – we just have to trust that He is Worthy!

Sometimes we need a check-up from the neck-up!

The battle is in your mind and it determines your success or failure – We need a mind shift! (Romans 2:12)

Don’t try to manipulate God by your ability to pray with big words.

God knows the intent behind every motive!

To be in the Will of God who is love… we have to love God – love others – and do His Will!

If what you do is not done in love, it’s done in vain!

When you do things in vain – it is dead works and there is no reward for it!

Ask yourself the question: “Am I motivated by love, or am I motivated by trying to look spiritual?”

The way you sound when you pray does not make it a more powerful prayer!

Don’t pray just to be seen by men…praying to impress.  You may be impressing people, but you are not impressing God! If you do this, you already have your reward! (Matthew 6:5)

Some of the prayers we pray are causing us to not be blessed!

Your concern should not be how to impress men, but how to magnify God!

Sadly today, in many churches and in many people’s lives, prayer has just become an exercise, a ritual, an obligation, a routine.

Don’t become religious in your prayers…just another “pew sitter – ineffective in the Kingdom!

God is not impressed by your prayers – He is impressed by your devotion… He wants your heart!

In the Kingdom, God calls us to be optimistic, and we need to look at what we do and the reasons we do it!

If you are not getting results in prayers – check your motives!

In the bible, God taught us how we should pray (Luke 11:1-4)

Don’t pray to get something from God because He has already done everything He is going to do and provided for us everything we need to live a blessed life through His Atonement!

God gave us a gift – but in order for all He has provided for us to manifest in our lives, it is up to us to trust Him and receive His gift!

It’s already there…but…You have to receive it! You have to apply it!

Eternal life is called the “Gift of God” – It is up to us to unravel it!

There is no need to P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens) – IT ALREADY HAPPENED!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is “The Good News”! The Gift of Eternal Life!

God made a way for all mankind 2,000 years ago, and every name was added to the Book of Life…but those who reject God and His promises – their names will be blotted out!

Give up sin – Not the Gospel!

You don’t have to be controlled by sin, stress, insecurity, condemnation!

Stop trying to soothe your conscience by begging God to forgive you – He already did!

The devil is a liar always telling you that you are not good enough and that you are too bad to be forgiven – but Jesus broke the power of the enemy!

Don’t pray worthless prayers (Matthew 6:7)  – just be submitted to His Will, because you love Him, and when you speak a thing – it shall happen!

We have to learn to Thank God, which brings us into agreement with Him… not ask Him continuously for what He has already done!

We have to learn to walk in faith and prosperity will follow – having sufficiency in all things! (2 Corinthians 9:8; Jeremiah 29:11; 3 John 1:2)

Our minds need to be fixed on The Lord at all times, and we need to stay in constant communication with Him, by talking to Him and praying without ceasing!(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Pray in the “Secret Place”! (Matthew 6:6)

We need to maintain a powerful, effective relationship with God, though relentless, powerful, effective constant communication and prayer!

Remember – praying big fancy words does not make you super spiritual or mean that you have an effective prayer life! God knows your motive… your devotion… and your heart!

“Scripture References”

The bible teaches us how to pray … Luke 11: 1-4
11 Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say:
“Father, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.”

Don’t pray worthless prayers … Matthew 6:7

2 Corinthians 9:8: And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. | Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. |3 John 1:2: Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.

We must learn to pray without ceasing … 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18

Pray in the “Secret Place” … Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
