Powerful Prayers – part 2

“Powerful Prayers”

(part 2)

Blessings Truth Church Family!

We hope you were able to join us, either in person or on-line this Sunday. The Praise Team led the congregation into complete submission and desire for only the Lord to be glorified, to be lifted high and that we draw nearer and nearer to Him!

Pastor Jason opened the service in prayer: “Heavenly Father we thank You for the opportunity to be here in your presence. There is no other place anywhere in this world where we can be whole except in your presence. Father today we thank you for who you are and what you are doing. Thank you for this house, these people, who love an honor you today with their presence, just to sit in your presence. Lord I just thank you for the anointing on my words. Let my words be your words, and give me entrance into every heart today, with revelation and truth that will transform us into the people that you desire us to be. In Jesus Name. Amen.”

Pastor Jason continued his series today entitled “Powerful Prayers”, where he is teaching us the strategies we must follow to have an effective and powerful prayer life.

Sermon message…

Lord, teach us how to pray (Luke 11: 1-4)

Don’t say repetitive weak prayers! It is what you say – not how you say it!

Don’t be phony when you pray! Get into the “Secret Place”!

We need to learn how to have effective, fervent prayer to move some stuff out of our lives!

We need to remove the squatters in our lives (“squatter”= a person [or thing] who unlawfully occupies a building or land without the legal right to do so)!

Declare the works of the Lord to remove the stuff…the squatters that don’t belong there!

We need “Powerful” prayers! Not weak knee, lay me down to sleep prayers which have no effect, and cannot affect change in your life!

If the Disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray – we need to do the same!

Not everyone prays the same way – but we all need to understand who it is we are praying to! He is our Father! He is your Father!

We need to understand the position of who we are praying to!

His position is above us – He is above all and has all authority!

His throne is in heaven and earth is His footstool! (Isaiah 66:1)

He rides above the dust clouds! (Psalm 104:3)

He knows all and sees all!

He can see our path and see things we can’t see before it approaches us!

We need to let go of the “natural” mind, thinking we are the masters of our own destiny, and we can take care of everything that comes our way all on our own, and put on the “Supernatural”  by putting all our faith and trust in the Lord, our creator, the creator of all things, who knows all and sees all, that trusting in Him is the only way we will get through!

We need to seek Him, worship Him, praise Him… our help comes from the Lord! (Psalm 121:1-2)

We have to learn how to Praise God!

We need to learn how to invoke His presence (“invoke”= asking something to be present)!

Praise is an usher … it ushers us into His presence! Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the high praises of God flow from your mouth with the sword of His Spirit in your hand – you will execute vengeance on the enemies of God … your enemies! (Psalm 149:5-9)

Hell shutters when you praise the Lord in the midst of all your trials and struggles!

Remember… on that cross at Calvary, God decided who was guilty and it wasn’t you!

The enemy of your life was judged, sentenced and convicted! He lost! You won!

Keep the high praises of God in your mouth at all times! God comes down and binds evil spirits! No weapon formed against you shall prosper! (Isaiah 54:17)

God shows up, His presence manifests and the atmosphere shifts when we praise Him!

God is enthroned on the praises of His people! (Psalm 22:3)

Remember, He is your Father, and your Father delights in blessing you!

It is His good pleasure to give you the Kingdom!

When the Holy Spirit comes into our life, He puts within us the spirit of adoption that cries out “Abba-Father”! He is our Daddy, God!

We have a heritage in the Lord!

Because He is our Father, we are praying to someone that is very aware of everything going on in our lives!

Because you love Him, if you ask anything in His name, He will do it! (John 14:13-15)

As believers, because of what we know is truth, we sometimes need to have our own personal pep rally and pump up some joy when we are going through trials and tribulations!

We need to be joyful and have joy unspeakable and full of glory, no matter what the situation, because of the promise we have in the Lord! (Nehemiah 8:10) (Psalm 94:19)

“Scripture References”

Lord, teach us how to pray … Luke 11: 1-4
1And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

His position is above all … Isaiah 66:1
Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

He rides above the dust clouds … Psalm 104:3
He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind;

Our Help comes from the Lord … Psalm 121:1-2
1I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

Sing a new song to the Lord! Praise Him! … Psalm 149:5-9
1Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!
Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.
Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats, and two-edged swords in their hands,
to execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples,
to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron,
to execute on them the judgment written! This is honor for all his godly ones.
Praise the Lord!

No Weapon formed against you shall prosper … Isaiah 54:17
17 no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication[a] from me, declares the Lord.”

God shows up in the midst when we praise Him … Psalm 22:3
Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises[a] of Israel.

Ask anything in my name and I will do it … John 14: 13-15
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

The joy of the Lord is your strength … Nehemiah 8:10
10 Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
