This is us – part 1

Weekly Update – July 5th, 2018

Part 1

Blessings Truth Church Family!

We hope you were able to join us, either in person or on-line this Sunday. The praise team led the congregation into the presence of the Holy Spirit with beautiful songs of adoration, gratitude and worship to our Almighty Father, for all He has done and continues to do for us.

This Sunday Pastor Jason started a new series entitled “This is Us!”  This series, is a look into…a picture of “Who” is in our house, who we are in this house, what is our culture and our assignment from God for this house, individually and as a church body.

In his opening prayer, Pastor Jason thanked God for giving him the ability to preach and teach. He thanked Him for his anointing that breaks the yolk of bondage over our lives and that opens our eyes to revelation and revealed truth. “Lord quicken our hearts today with truth. Restore unto us the sight we need to move forward into what you have for us. In Jesus Name…Amen.”

“This is Us!” (part 1)

Who is in your house?
We say to God that we love Him more than anything, but often times the way we live our lives does not reflect that.
Often times, when the daily reality of our lives begins to crowd us in, our affections for God slip away, and we forget all the things He has helped us overcome in our lives and how much He sacrificed for us and loves us.
No matter what we are going through in our lives, we have to remind ourselves that we love God more than anything, and He will help us overcome!
We are God’s children. He has a purpose, a destiny, an assignment for us all!
You have a Kingdom assignment!
Who you are matters!  You matter!
You have your own identity and are called to fulfill your God given purpose, but God has set before us in this season of our lives, to take us somewhere we have never been before and to do things we have never done before for the Kingdom!
What are we going to accomplish together for the Kingdom?
We are a community! We have unity in the thing we have in common!
What we have in common – is uncommon!
It’s Supernatural!
We need to be part of a group of people that gather together and have a desire to change the community we live in for the Kingdom of God!
We have to face the challenges that are presented to us in order to be a “This is Us” church!
We are good, but we can be better, and in order to get better we have to refuse to be bitter!
What you do personally, affects what we do corporately as a house, a church family.
The private battles you overcome, matter on a corporate level!
Who you are alone, will determine what you will do and where you will go!
When we think no one is watching, if we start “Skating”, we rob ourselves of our potential of being in the right place at the right time! [Skating = Avoiding something important, by finding an excuse to be elsewhere or unavailable by doing something easier] Remember…Big doors of opportunity swing on small hinges of obedience!
You cannot “Skate” on the call of God for your life!
Don’t let the troubles of everyday life, diminish or take away the one thing that should be the most important in your life – Jesus Christ!
Be careful not to neglect the great salvation! (Hebrews 2:1-4)
Even in the church, we sometimes seem to love the “movement” more than the Lord,  by making the “movement” the focal point of our affection and worship rather than the Lord Himself! When this happens, we are now in the “Danger zone!”
Set your sights on the Lord at all times!
We need to have “Vision” which is about where we are going, and “Values” which are about how we are going to get there.
If we are going to impact our community for Christ, we have to be united!
The way of the world is to be divisive, to sew discord and build barriers, separating people based on their differences. This is NOT us!
Examples of worldly separation and divisiveness are the media, politics, secular colleges and places of education – People constantly in conflict because they don’t share the same views, opinions, values or vision!
Our society has become so focused on what we don’t have that we’ve become a nation of people who hates everyone that has something we don’t, and because of this attitude we resent people instead of blessing them because we have a spirit of envy and competition.
If the enemy can get you to zone in on what’s wrong, or what you lack, you will never see what is right and be thankful for what you have! If this is the atmosphere existing in the church, instead of having a positive Godly impact on our city, we become a joke and will instead lose impact on our city because we look just like the world on the inside!
We need to come together in unity, in one accord, loving and lifting each other up to be able to heal our community and make an impact for the Kingdom of God!
It is important for us to live in unity because we need each other! If you don’t love anybody you cannot accomplish anything!
Don’t think you are better than you really are! Be honest in your evaluation of yourself! (Romans 12:3-7)
Don’t be prideful! God created you – you had nothing to do with it!
We all came from one God and we are all part of one body – the body of Christ!
We belong to each other and we are better together!
We are all one race – The HUMAN race!
Racism is silly!  It has to be taught!
Sometimes prejudice is passed down through generations, as we make up our own bible and say it’s God’s!
God declares that He will take the Jews and the Gentiles and make One New Man! (Ephesians 2:14-18)
We need to have one mind and one voice! (Romans 15:5-7)

Here are our Declarations as a Church Family positioning itself to impact our community for the Kingdom of God!

At Truth Church we declare…

We are not ordinary – but extraordinary!
We see beyond the “natural” things and discern “Supernatural” things!
What we have sewn in tears, labor, resources and time will break forth with God’s abundance, goodness, increase and blessings!
We are in a season of health and breakthrough!
We shall have uncommon, supernatural connections that opens big doors of opportunity!
We shall be full of laughter and joy, and the barren places of our lives will overflow with the presence of the Lord!
Our dreams and visions will expand and manifest in this season!
We will have unusual success and supernatural expansion in this season!
We will have recovery and restoration of lost purposes and the disappointments of the past will turn to favor!
We will have a breakthrough season of miracles, signs and wonders!

“Scripture References”

Scripture References:

“Do Not Neglect Salvation” … Hebrews 2:1-4
1Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

“Do Not think Highly of yourself… Be Humble” … Romans 12:3-7
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

“One New Man” … Ephesians 2:14-18
14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

“One mind – One voice” … Romans 15:5-7
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
