Wise- Guys part 2

Weekly Update – May 27th, 2018

Blessings Truth Church Family!

We hope you were able to join us, either in person or on-line this Sunday. The Praise team lead us into powerful and heartfelt worship and Pastor Simone gave a special Memorial Day tribute to our fallen heroes with a beautiful rendition of “God Bless America”. This Sunday Pastor Jason continued his 3-part sermon, with part 2 of his series entitled “Wise Guys”.

In his opening prayer, Pastor Jason asked God to saturate the room with His presence, and to give us ears to hear and hearts to receive truth that will change us from the inside out. He asked God to give us revelation that moves us into the next dimension of living, and that we become the light of this culture. In Jesus name…Amen.

“Wise Guys – part 2”

(Proverbs 30:24-28)

  • We are Kingdom people!
  • In this life we are citizens of America, but in eternal life, we are citizens of the Kingdom of God!
  • We have no Kings in America, we are a self-governing nation with elected representatives.
  • God calls us to pray for our elected representatives and for our nation.
  • The battle-scars and wounds of this country made America what it is today, and our assignment as people of God is to stand up for the Kingdom of God and to bring the nation back to God, as it was intended to be!
  • We were meant to live for something more!
  • It is a “Yes” season for Truth Church, which means it is a “Yes” season for the people of Truth Church!
  • We are moving into a time where we thought what would never happen is about to happen!
  • Don’t focus on what happened in your past, what you did wrong, what you could have done, should have done or could have had.
  • You can become your own worst enemy and the devil will support you in that effort!
  • You need to learn to forgive yourself, leave your past behind and prepare for your next!
  • You need to be a “Wise guy!”
  • You can never have wisdom working backwards! Get off memory lane!
  • If what you see in your rearview mirror is the same thing you see in your windshield, you are going the wrong way!
  • Sometimes what is going on in your life today can keep you in bondage from having a hope and vision for your future.
  • A true disciple of Christ lives in the future and tolerates the present!
  • Having faith that you will be here the next season, will help you get through your present season.
  • God is opening doors for us to walk through!  It is a “Yes” season!
  • Many have the talent and calling, but don’t have the character to do the job!
  • God has a call on your life! It’s time to step into your calling!
  • God wants to start using people who are “unknown” – Your time has come!
  • We ask “God, how can you use me…I am so small…I am nothing.”
  • God delights in using people that other people look down on.
  • Most of the people God used in the bible, had sub-standard equipment!
  • They were not educated or well-known.
  • God chooses to do mighty things through small things! (1st Corinthians 1:26-31)
  • Look at the small things to see wisdom!
  • Lessons from the ant (Proverbs 30:25)
  • The ant ignores where he is at because he is preparing for where he is going.
  • The ants’ wisdom allows him to go for things that are much bigger than he is!
  • We need to have determined faith and not quit when we face something we think is too big for us to handle!
  • God says to lean on Him and trust in Him and we can move any mountain that we face! (Matthew 17:20)
  • God is looking for people who have no frame of reference to their faith but trust in Him that all things are possible through Him!
  • We need to line our vision up with what God has planned for our life!
  • Because we see it… in our vision… we believe it! Trust in the Lord!
  • God wants us to lean on Him when we are ready to give up.
  • God will never give you a life where faith is not necessary!
  • You can’t get to where God is taking you without faith!
  • You cannot step into your “Yes” season by “who you know” – You have got to know God!
  • You have to properly position yourself for the next step in your life!
  • We have a rock in our life and His name is Jesus!
  • We don’t need to fight all the pressures of life on our own, we need to hide ourselves in Him!
  • When we focus on what is attacking us instead of where God is taking us, the enemy will come at you at your weakest vulnerability.
  • There is a place in Christ where you can be hidden from the enemy of your soul! (Psalm 91-1-2)
  • The key to success is to stay hidden in Christ – our Savior, Protector, Defender, Healer!

“Scripture References”

God chooses weak things…1st Corinthians 1:26-31

26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Be wise like the Ant…Proverbs 30:25

Ants are creatures of little strength,
    yet they store up their food in the summer;

Faith to move mountains…Matthew 17:20

20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Hide yourself in Him…Psalm 91:1-2

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
